			<p><b>India,</b> Cancer burden in India has more than <strong>doubled over the last 26 years</strong>. The highest increase among all therapy areas, with <strong>breast cancer being the most common among Indian women</strong>, according to a recent report. Council of Medical Research (ICMR), more than 1300 Indians die every day due to <b>cancer</b>. Between 2012 and 2014, the mortality <b>rate</b> due to <b>cancer</b> increased by approximately 6%. In 2012, there were 478,180 deaths out of 2,934,314 cases reported.</p>
<p>The government has laid down four priority cancers &#8212; <strong>breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer, and lung cancer which together constitute 41 </strong><strong>per cent</strong><strong> of cancer burden</strong>, the report mentioned.</p>

<p>NEW DELHI: Cases of common cancer, including oral, cervical and breast cancer, diagnosed at state-run NCD clinics increased by nearly 324% between 2017 and 2018, according to National Health Profile, 2019 data. Though the total number of people visiting NCD clinics also doubled between 2017 and 2018, from 3.5 crore to 6.6 crore, experts attribute the increasing incidence of the disease to rapidly changing lifestyles, including stress, food habits and consumption of tobacco products and alcohol.</p>
<p>Cases of common cancer, including oral, cervical and breast cancer, diagnosed at state-run NCD clinics increased by nearly 324% between 2017 and 2018.</p>
<p>Gujarat recorded the most number of cases of common cancer in 2018, followed by Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana &amp; West Bengal</p>
<p><strong>The top five cancers in men and women account for 47.2% of all cancers; these cancers can be prevented, screened for and/or detected early and treated at an early stage</strong><strong>. This could significantly reduce the death rate from these cancers</strong><strong>.</strong></p>
